Dog Grooming Tips:

•   Maintenance Paws & Nails

• The paws are very sensitive, especially between the paw pads. To help your dog be more comfortable with paw maintenance (trimming, nails, etc), stimulate the areas between the paw pads to help your dog get used to contact in these sensitive areas. 
• Fur growing between the paw pads must be kept short. The fur not only collects dirt, but it also can eliminate traction and reduce the sense of touch. Fur growing over the paw pads is like wearing socks all the time which can cause the dog to slip on slick surfaces. 
• Fur between the paw pads can get matted and collect gum and other matting material. This can become extremely uncomfortable for the dog. 
• Dog's nails are filed automatically by walking on rough surfaces (sidewalk/ street). Long fur on the underside of the paw prevents the natural filing of the claws. Claws should be kept short for safety and comfort. 
• Because black claws can only by trimmed by a professional or someone with experience, it is I recommend intentionally walking the dog on rough surfaces to promote the natural filing of the claws  that   can become extremely uncomfortable & even painful for a dog.must be kept short.

Pieare's Dog Day follow-up. Through the obstacles of a deaf and wounded dog...

Pieare's 'HH Dog-Day' got off to a shaky start, but quickly turned around.
Because he is deaf, I had to use creative techniques to capture his attention and win him over.
During the fitness /walking portion of the 'HH Dog Day', Pieare relaxed and enjoyed the outing and stimulation.
This made the (second part of the HH Dog-Day) Grooming easier.

Pieare was excellent during grooming. I managed to completely avoid making contact with the painful growth on his head.

helped rescue Brighton from death and give him a second chance at life.

Brighton was found nearly dead on the streets of Romania. 

After being severely injured, Brighton was all alone when he woke up from his coma… 

After several days of wandering the streets, he was picked up and brought to the local shelter. 

Deaf, Emaciated, & brain damaged, the shelter in Romania found him to be hopeless….

Sent to the Netherlands for another chance… 

Brighton was fostered back to health, and finally adopted to a new family.

Welcome to the HH-Pack!!!

Kouja is a 6 year old, Female, Pomeranian-cross.

Many thanks to her new, loving parents who rescued Kouja from the shelter.

She has immediately taken to her new parents and life-style… although as most new parents, they should be careful not to spoil her too much…

Kouja is very sweet, good with other dogs, in great health, loves the water, enjoys treats, long walks, and relaxing on the couch. 

She hates being left alone and has a little anxiety. Her anxiety is expressed through heavy breathing that quickly evolves into loud barking.

It was immediately evident that Kouja responds well to Hollywood Honden Training sessions. We will be working on the anxiety, barking, basic commands & boundaries.
